Introduction to HR in Education - 4 modules

The content of the Introduction to HR in Education course has been designed to help delegates get a greater understanding of HR best practice including statutory requirements related to pay and conditions of service that are specific to education.
Delivered online over 4 x 2.5 hour modules:

This course provides an introduction to the key HR administrative processes and procedures needed to ensure best practice in education settings. The course includes practical exercises to help delegates work through various possible scenarios around the management of staff in schools.
The topics covered in each of the modules is as follows:-
Module 1 - General HR Administration:
- Selection and Appointment
- Pre-employment checks
- References
- Right to work in the UK
- Types of contracts
- Continuous Service
Module 2 - Support Staff and policies:
- Pay and conditions of service specific to support staff and statutory requirements for pay policy
- Job descriptions and frameworks
- Inductions and Probation
- Annual leave
- Notice Periods
Family Care Policies:
- Attendance Management
- Maternity
- Flexible Working
- Paternity
Module 3 - Teachers’ regulations and pay:
- Who can be employed as a teacher? This includes qualifications, Instructors and overseas trained teachers
- Induction and probation
- Notice periods specific to teachers
- Teachers Pay and conditions
- Teachers working time
Module 4 - Education HR in Practice
This is a practical session where we work through various scenarios to consolidate the learning from the previous sessions.
In this session we also highlight the support that is included in our SLA and how we can help those attending the course be supported in their roles.
Event pre-requisites
It is a highly recommended programme for anyone that has a role that involves HR management in Education.
