What
the course will cover: We
will focus on the legal context, recruitment and selection process and planning,
shortlisting, employment references, interviewing and decision making, conditional
offers, DBS checks and the SCR, data protection issues and induction.
Whilst the focus of the course
is predominantly focussed on safer recruitment, we also consider the employment
law context and best practice principles in selection and appointment, to
ensure a broader understanding of the risks associated with getting the process
wrong. Although there is certain minimum content to be covered, there is an
opportunity to focus in on particular areas of the process according to
delegates’ roles.
Outcomes: Delegates
will have the opportunity to increase their understanding, in order to be
better equipped to participate in the process of recruitment in the context of
safer recruitment, employment law and best practice principles.
Who
will benefit: This
workshop is aimed at all those with a responsibility for recruitment, including
those who may be shortlisting and interviewing staff as well as those
responsible for undertaking vetting checks.
