This course is designed to provide a comprehensive
understanding of a schools statutory requirements in relation to carrying out
DBS and other pre-employment checks and maintaining their Single Central
Record.
Please note we also run a separate SCR training course
which looks at this subject area in more depth
running on 30th March.
Delivered online over 3 x 2.5 hour modules: 22nd March, 23rd March and 25th March (10-12:30pm).

Please
note the 2nd module of this course includes a walk-through of the (4S) DBS
portal, however the rest of the course content is generic and relevant to all
users.

- Pre-DBS risk assessment and supervision

- Online DBS portal demonstration (4S Portal only)
- ID checking guidelines and routes
- Tracking applications and escalations
- DBS Update service
- Positive DBS disclosures and risk assessments
- DBS filtering rules
Module Three:
- The Single Central Record
- Ofsted guidance on inspecting the SCR
- Teacher prohibition and EEA Checks
- Childcare Disqualification
- Section 128 checks
- Overseas police checks
- Right to work
- Academy conversion
Delegates
will have a greater understanding of legislation and processing requirements
for DBS checks, the pre-employment check
requirements of KCSIE and of managing
the SCR. The course also involves a practical demonstration of our DBS portal
and activities such
as risk assessing positive DBS disclosures.
